Hello there, Dave Sloan here, thanks for stopping by for this brief introduction! I’ve always loved creating things from wood since my first wood shop experience in Phoenix Jr Secondary in Campbell River, BC. Now, working with reclaimed bridge and beach wood today is so much more rewarding and ethical. Every piece used in Bridges’ furniture has been hand-selected from our racks of various reclaimed wood. These pieces are rough, battered by time and machine alike. Some are worn from years of smashing on beaches in the waves, and some full of old rusty spikes from its previous duty. As artists, we shape and bring these old and forgotten pieces of wood back to life in our hands and give them new purpose as hand-crafted, beautiful art furniture! In a seemingly throw away world, it is a wonderful feeling to not only reuse something previously intended to perish in the fires of industry, but also to build these pieces to last and be handed down. I am very proud to be a part of a solution, and even more proud of each piece I build! I hope you enjoy your piece of furniture as much as I have enjoyed making it.
